My Previous Job
My name is Jeffrey and I am part of a team that have been in the online space for the last 17 years selling garage machinery which is probably the worst thing to get delivered using the national carriers. There are Breakages in Transit. Carriers sometimes cannot find the address. Or there is no one at home to sign for the item.
On the plus side the products we sell are usually expensive and have a reasonable markup and profit on eBay and more so on our own website. So I and my partners have managed to get an income from. But in the last few years this income is ever diminishing.
Navigating Change: The Impact of Evolving Markets
The reason for that is Chinese manufacturers have been selling direct to the public. It was once a problem for them because of the shipping delay, but now they store the goods in the country we live in, and deliver cheaply and quickly, thus forcing us to lower our prices. The only thing protecting us is our well known brand name, and the fact that we have to guarantee the items for 12 months
This shift didn’t just test our resilience; it proved to be a reality check. Understand that change is inevitable, and being nimble is your best bet in such situations. Embracing change, rather than shying away from it, became our new mantra. What was our response to this seismic shift in the market? We turned to something that resonates with so many today: affiliate marketing.
I want to be clear: my journey into affiliate marketing wasn’t just a leap of faith. It was a calculated move based on the twists and turns of an ever-evolving marketplace.
My Experiences with Affiliate Marketing
It’s been a journey dotted with small victories and also, let’s be honest, some face-palms. Sure, there have been those moments when the affiliate commissions rolled in, and I felt like I had cracked the code. But, there have been equally as many times when I fell for empty promises and flashy gurus, leading to more losses than gains.
In this world of affiliate marketing, I’ve learned that success isn’t handed to you; it’s earned through trial and error, and a willingness to keep learning. It’s not a straight road, and it’s paved with as many scams as there are legitimate opportunities. I’ve had my share of both, and it’s from these experiences that I’ve gleaned valuable lessons.
I share these lessons not to discourage you but to light your path so you can avoid the pitfalls I encountered. My aim is to offer you a compass for this journey providing direction where there’s uncertainty, and insight where there’s confusion. Stay tuned, because I’m going to reveal exactly how my experiences translated into success with Affiliate Marketing and how this blog is here to serve as your guide.
In the dim and distant past I did manage to get £30.00 to £50.00 a month from a UK tool, Garage, and Construction Equipment affiliate marketing website that showed who sold a particular item at the lowest price. Ebay or Amazon or any other website. That website took three months to build and with 746 products took a lot of maintenance, because as an item was sold out by a seller on eBay or Amazon a new seller had to be found
It still earns £30.00 to £50.00 per month but it is not the way to go and I would not recommend this type of website to anyone.
Learn from My Mistakes:
For those reasons I have been trying to make a business out of Affiliate Marketing on and off for the past 13 years. And although I have had a little success, I am not ashamed to say that up until 18 months ago I have been scammed out of more money than I have earned from Affiliate Market. This blog is about how you can learn from all of my mistakes. I owe all my subsequent business success to Wealthy AffiliateWeathly Affiliate
