Let’s start off with an example of what not to do. This is a website I built in 2017 which took 6 months to build, and seemed a good idea at the time.

This Compare Power Tools website compares the price of hardware tools and products on different websites e.g. eBay and Amazon and others. The probem with it is that sellers on eBay and Amazon run out of stock fairly quickly so you are sending your affiliate link into fresh air. However, maybe I just had the wrong product. A better idea is to sell online services, where a customer signs up for things like specialized plugins, hosting or Domain registration or anything else that is an ongoing service. I wish I’d figured that out back in 2010, instead of thinking eBay and Amazon was the only game in town.
