Affiliate Marketing Tuition Rant

The Current Affiliate Marketing Tuition Landscape

What is it about Affiliate Marketing Trainers that attracts the biggest bull$h!tters, show-offs and con-artists? they all seem to follow a familiar pattern.

First you see their Lamborgini, or Ferrari. Then you see someone laying on a deckchair on a beautiful beach somewhere in the tropics. Next thing is a picture of his wife and kids. After that comes a phrase like are you ready to take the challenge? or something similar.

When you do engage with them you find that their teaching video is years out of date bears little resemblance to the current Clickbank, JVzoo, or Digistore. I have managed to get my money back a few times when paying with PayPal who tell me that this is a common complaint.

I once paid $297.00 to someone who sent material that was 4 years out of date . PayPal refunded me after a struggle.

My Previous Job

My name is Jeffrey and I am part of a team that have been in the online space for the last 17 years selling garage machinery which is probably the worst thing to get delivered using the national carriers. There are Breakages in Transit. Carriers sometimes cannot find the address. Or there is no one at home to sign for the item.

On the plus side the products we sell are usually expensive and have a reasonable markup and profit on eBay and more so on our own website.

But in the last few years we have found that Chinese manufacturers have been selling direct to the public. It was once a problem for them because of the shipping delay, but now they store the goods in the country you are in, and deliver cheaply and quickly, thus forcing us to lower our prices

Navigating Change: The Impact of Evolving Markets

Imagine the ground shifting under your feet, that’s a pretty accurate metaphor for how the market landscape has transformed over the years. Staying rooted while everything around you changes is no easy task. For us, it was Chinese manufacturers entering the fray, selling directly to consumers. A game-changer, for sure.

Initially, these manufacturers faced their own hurdles with shipping delays. But that story changed when they started storing goods locally, delivering them quickly and cheaply. It was like finding yourself up against a well-oiled machine that knew exactly how to please the crowd. This, of course, meant we had to reassess our prices to keep up, squeezing those comfortable profit margins we’d grown used to.

This shift didn’t just test our resilience; it proved to be a reality check. Understand that change is inevitable, and being nimble is your best bet in such situations. Embracing change, rather than shying away from it, became our new mantra. What was our response to this seismic shift in the market? We turned to something that resonates with so many today: affiliate marketing.

I want to be clear: my journey into affiliate marketing wasn’t just a leap of faith. It was a calculated move based on the twists and turns of an ever-evolving marketplace.

My Foray into Affiliate Marketing

It’s been a journey dotted with small victories and also, let’s be honest, some face-palms. Sure, there have been those moments when the affiliate commissions rolled in, and I felt like I had cracked the code. But, there have been equally as many times when I fell for empty promises and flashy gurus, leading to more losses than gains.

In this world of affiliate marketing, I’ve learned that success isn’t handed to you; it’s earned through trial and error, and a willingness to keep learning. It’s not a straight road, and it’s paved with many scams and very few legitimate opportunities. I’ve had my share of both, and it’s from these experiences that I’ve gleaned valuable lessons.

I share these lessons not to discourage you but to light your path so you can avoid the pitfalls I encountered. My aim is to offer you a compass for this journey providing direction where there’s uncertainty, and insight where there’s confusion. Stay tuned, because I’m going to reveal exactly how my experiences translated into the success of Affiliate Marketing and how this website is here to serve as your guide.

Learn from My Mistakes:

For those reasons I have been trying to make a business out of Affiliate Marketing on and off for the past 13 years. And although I have had a little success, I am not ashamed to say that I have been scammed out of more money than I have earned. This website is about how you can learn from my mistakes.

Finally:

There must be 1000s of YouTube Affiliate Marketing Tuition videos most of which require 30 minutes to  view, only to find out it’s just another deckchair, Lamborgini, and the wife and kids. Another 30 minutes lost!

  1. This article resonates on so many levels! The oversaturation of “flashy gurus” and outdated material in affiliate marketing has indeed made it tough to find genuine guidance. Your honest recount of being burned by overpriced, outdated courses and flashy ads really speaks to the frustrations so many face in this field. The way you’ve pivoted from challenges with direct competition and shifting markets into affiliate marketing shows resilience and adaptability.

Sharing both your wins and setbacks makes your journey relatable, and I appreciate your mission to offer real insights to help others avoid those all-too-common pitfalls. Thanks for sharing an honest look at the realities behind affiliate marketing—it’s refreshing to see someone cut through the noise!

    • Thanks again for your appreciation John. I am not ashamed to say that after 13 years up to 2017 I must sound like a stupid person, but without guidance of some sort or a mentor I was thrashing about in the dark.
